No, it proceeds the rest of a novel or series of novels. An epilogue, on the other hand, can fail to conclude a set of novels that changed a generation. But that's another story.

Way to make some sort of HP reference there, Ryan. Am I the only person in the world who didn't hate the epilogue (save the name "Hugo")? One must remember that she wrote it before she wrote the rest of the series.

Okay, I'm back. I didn't hate the epilogue, but it was "ugh" for me. It was just... ugh. The Albus Severus line, however, still is able to provide me with a good laugh to this day, so I suppose it's worth something, right?

I think "Albus Severus" and "Hugo" were the only two things I abhorred about the epilogue. I mean, I can understand Harry's wish to honour everybody dead that has ever influenced him, but why lumber a child with that name? It's almost as bad as Renesmee. ALMOST.
