I HAVE A JOB!
So our one and only candidate for State Legislature apparently heard of Drew Hanna (Pewaukee is a small town) and I was invited to come to Moe's to meet him. I end up getting a job offer from the Republican Party of Waukesha County that was too good not to turn down as a Facebook page operator and researcher on the History of the Republican Party in Wisconsin (is mentioning Joe McCarthy a bad thing?). So somehow I'm now mainly working for Paul Farrow, candidate for the 98th District of Wisconsin, his predecessor and State Senate Candidate Ron Zipperrer, Congressman Jim Sensenbrennar (he wrote the Patriot Act, this should be fun times), and Milwaukee County Executive and Gubernatorial Candidate Scott Walker. BUT among the AHHHHHHHHHH I'M WORKING FOR THE REPUBLICANS (sad face) comes the good side that I'm working with a friend from High School who is also a Libertarian so at least sanity can be found somewhere. So this should be fun and I get to meet famous people so who cares about the party, it is going to be a party (or not)

moes as in the burrito place? I feel that there is a different scott walker that I know/heard of. and sounds to be a pretty cushy job. facebook operator.

Wisconsin Republicans really don't have a good record, do they?

Well there hasn't been a Republican US Senator from Wisconsin since 1993, but Feingold has always just eked by. There is a good chance he can be unseated, but he'd be in the middle to bottom of my list of seats likely to switch. As for Governor, Former Secretary of Health and Human Services Tommy Thompson was the longest serving Governor in the History of the state from 1987-2001. While the current governor (Jim Doyle) is a Democrat he is not running for reelection and is very unpopular. The race is between Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett and Milwaukee County Executive Scott Walker. The Republicans will most likely win the Governorship. As for national elections, Wisconsin was the closest state in 2004 and both Wisconsin and Minnesota are becoming more conservative (less Scandinavian heritage). Locally, Waukesha County is the third most Republican voting county of the 72 here in Wisconsin. The more conservative ones are Washington County which is directly north of Waukesha County and Ozaukee County, which is directly east of Washington County and directly north of Milwaukee County (the most democratically voting county in the state).
So to answer the question, Wisconsin is pretty much split down the middle (the State Legislatures are almost equal and that is following two good Democratic election seasons) so I think Wisconsin Republicans may be rising again. Expect Minnesota to switch with us as Colorado and New Mexico more formally go Democratic.
