Wuthering Heights vs Jane Eyre
Which Bronte novel do you like better and why?
Having said that, which is superior to the other? (Not necessarily the same)

Wuthering Heights is so much more deep. Emily Bronte's style is so unique especially in how she presents the narration

Re: Wuthering Heights vs Jane Eyre
The narration was what confused me when I was twelve, but having read both books I must say that Wuthering Heights was infinitely more
a) interesting
b) captivating
c) memorable
d) unique
e) wild
Having a wife in the attic is okay, but pining over your love for twenty years? Digging into her grave the night she's born? Now THAT'S imaginative.

And of course resting next to her dead body. I'm sorry, but Jane Eyre is no where near as special as Wuthering Heights
Re: Wuthering Heights vs Jane Eyre
Jane is plain, which I suppose was the point of the story. She's not the most attractive, the most talented, etc etc. But Cathy (both Cathys, actually) are so vibrant. To be honest, I can't remember what Jane did, except for speaking French to Adela and something about Mr Rochester. But Heathcliff is so brooding! He's like WOW!

His scheming. Plus Wuthering Heights is so much more interesting than Jane Eyre when you take it through a Freudian lens
Re: Wuthering Heights vs Jane Eyre
... hmmm I don't know much about Freud but if I had a choice between Heathcliff or Mr Rochester pining over me... I'd leave 'em both and take any combination of Mr Darcy and Lucentio from Taming of the Shrew.
