Year 22 Senate Elections
Lucas M. Wachob, currently a 12 year incumbent, is up for reelection. In addition if we pass the current amendment there will be an additional Senate seat to fill that will be elected this term if possible.
Re: Year 22 Senate Elections
Well we have a vacant senate seat. Candidates? Don't forget Wachob is up for reelection.
Re: Year 22 Senate Elections
I'll go for the vacant one.

Word. But we'll see if he posts or not. I know he said that after he registered he was unable to log in, but that was a while ago. Will have to see where he's at now.

Did he activate his e-mail? Think you need to do that first.

Running for senate
Hey people, I'm Carl Lew and I am declaring my candidacy for the newly formed Senate seat. As a fresh face in the arena, I'll be an Independent centrist for this first term. I look forward to serving my constituents and generally kicking ass as I run train all over my to be determined rivals.

Re: Year 22 Senate Elections
The Board of Elections has a 96% track record on predicting elections this sim. If you want to know the current prediction is pm The Board of Elections (me). By the way, I've only incorrectly projected a race once.
Re: Year 22 Senate Elections
Well duh, you get like 3 votes if you count all the people you influence.
Also, I don't like knowing in advanced. I want to see when it happens. It's like a spoiler on a movie... only this is an election.
P.S. Which election did you predict incorrectly?

Re: Year 22 Senate Elections
It actually involved you, I projected a victory for you as President in Year 16. One thing I will note, though, is that a big problem for FTL members is that they need to come out to the polls. Also of note. I don't tell people how to vote, I just normally can rely on their votes, and their votes are normally predictable, because certain sim members have been nicer to them than others. So therefore a Wisconsinite member is most likely to vote for Wachob, Alex, or Max since all of them have had a favorable opinion of the new members. I can't imagine that they take all that kindly to the comment I am responding to since it implies that they don't care about the government sim.
Re: Year 22 Senate Elections
Interesting. Well I guess my IC yelling at everyone has probably made me a few enemies. If people could see how I voted though they'd be very surprised.

Re: Year 22 Senate Elections
Note, I personally think that you could amass more votes if you perhaps campaigned if ever you run for higher office. I think that would have made the difference.
Re: Year 22 Senate Elections
So a thought crossed my mind on the legality of our electoral process. Utahraptor has no profile to vote. I think this is wrong and it sways my data wrongly. He doesn't have to use the profile to talk, but he does need to vote
Re: Year 22 Senate Elections
No he doesn't.

Re: Year 22 Senate Elections
Well I suppose he really can't vote, can he. The 15th Amendment allows all races to vote but doesn't say anything about other species.

Re: Year 22 Senate Elections
Yes, but until we get an amendment passed, according to the Constitution Utahraptor can't vote. That makes this whole issue not a problem.

Re: Year 22 Senate Elections
I think that Drew's intentions are not for fairness, but instead to bribe Utahraptor into supporting him. Poofter Hanna knows term is up in Year 24, and is scrambling to secure votes because he projects a close race regardless of who is his competition. Poofter Hanna's corruption has always been apparent to the keen perceptive eye of Utahraptor, so to gain his vote in the next election he is trying to buy him off.

Actually I was trying to avoid shenanigans on the Year 22 Senate Election, because I didn't want Dohn to be blown out completely again
