Luke I totally agree with you. Guns n Roses had always played a very similar style of music. If you're looking for variety in style, Queen clearly has more.

HOWEVER, I still feel like a lot of Queens music, while different in style, really isn't all that great. Playing music beyond the normal boundaries of genre doesn't make you a good band. Your songs have to be good too.

Therefore, I thinks Guns n Roses is still a better band. Sure they never really challenged the genreical (to illude to your made up word) boundaries, but there music is powerful. Similar to AC/DC, they are proof that music doesn't have to have incredible meaning or incredible creativity to have a powerful effect on the listeners.
