Private companies may not consider gender or sexual orientation in the hiring process unless the job is clearly related to gender (modeling, athletics, etc.). Nobody may be refused employment based on their status as male, female, transgendered, homosexual, bisexual, or heterosexual.

To Senator Hanna, only 13 states have bias protection for transgendered individuals, and the national level has nothing about it in hiring practices. The other categories are redundant, but I felt that transgendered people should be included.

Yay to utahraptor's amendment, can't believe I forgot to include species! My bad.

Ok, just clarifying the redundancies, but again I am under the impression that we already passed this in one of the various LGBT reform acts passed by Congress. Regardless, yay to the amendment.
