Ummmm... maybe you should talk to your RA... about how uncomfortable your roommate makes you feel...

FUCK! The RD wants 100 dollars from our suite in damages. I'm back in conflict, if I don't pay I admit I told an RA (albeit by accident), but if I do, I piss myself off

Fuck your roommate. Request a change.

Drew, you really need to do something... otherwise you're going to go crazy and defenestrate yourself...
Talk to your RA and then see if you can change your roommate. That's all I can say...

Casey seems to suggest the most effective solutions, if you have to confidence to go through with it.

Re: OCD vs. Indifference (or Roommates, Shots, and other things that come in threes)
So after hearing that the RD wanted to charge us all $100 our suite went to our RA. We discovered that my roommate had been ratted out by the girls next door who, based on evidence, I can pretty much say lied.
The RA told everyone we would not be getting the fine, and that the RD was overreacting (and here I was hoping my roommate would have to pay $100...). I stayed afterwards to personally talk to the RA and confirmed that my accidental slip was not responsible and got reassured that they were already searching the rooms prior to that moment.
In addition, the RA informed me that I am known to the RAs and the RD as one of the two sober people in the suite and that I would not face any suite wide fines at any time. On the flip side, if ever I do say I live in 412 I will probably get glares as the whole building is aware of my suite as "the one that got busted".

Yayyy for you being sober!
Also it is noteworthy that I have managed to block the grad student who I'm 90% sure has a crush on me from Facebook chat (because he's really creeping me out and he's seven years older than me...) HOORAY FOR FACEBOOK YAYYYY.

Does he have a job lined up Alex? How much does he owe to student loans?
You gotta be economical about love. I didn't even know you could block people from facebook chat.

Re: OCD vs. Indifference (or Roommates, Shots, and other things that come in threes)
He's known me for less than a week and invited me to go to a concert with him an hour and a half away in Lexington. On a school night. (Which I said no to because it made me feel realllly uncomfortable.) And he keeps trying to talk to me and has said stuff like, "Not gonna lie, there's nothing hotter than a cute girl in a hockey jersey." Which I guess is flattering but I'm also very creeped out... he's also on quiz bowl and it makes me uncomfortable.
I guess it's the accent?
PS. To block people from Facebook chat, make a friend list with people you want to block in it. And then there's a slider next to the list as a whole so you can "go offline" to those people. But make sure they're not in the group called "other people," I think. Because that's where everybody goes automatically and then you might block somebody you don't want to.

I don't know how much he owes because he's never brought it up. The point is that I don't feel comfortable around him AT ALL.
And he just sent me something saying like "I'd really like to hang out with you in a non-Quiz Bowl setting. We could do x y or z!" And stuff. JLADSKKJLADFSDASKJLKJLADS THIS IS TOTALLY NOT COOL.

Wow, this guy really sounds like the smooth operator. Sounds like one creepy dude. You could do the normal, run whenever he enters the room...

Re: OCD vs. Indifference (or Roommates, Shots, and other things that come in threes)
I've known him for a week. And he keeps trying to hang out with me. My question is, WHY WHY WHY?
Have made up a test so I can't go to this concert with him. And I should probably find a way to tactfully say, "Sorry, no, I'm not interested." Tact, tact, tact.
I really do bet it's the accent, I only said two words to him the night I met him at Quiz Bowl (those two words being "Buffalo, NY" when asked where I was from lolz). And he's professed to being an Anglophile because he studied at Cambridge last summer. It's really depressing because I'm really not enjoying Quiz Bowl as much as before

Just tell him "STOP YOU'RE CREEPING ME OUT"
Re: OCD vs. Indifference (or Roommates, Shots, and other things that come in threes)
Do you have any really brazen friends there that will tell him your feelings because he sounds like the kind of person that I'd be scared of saying something like that to.

Re: OCD vs. Indifference (or Roommates, Shots, and other things that come in threes)
Options:
1) Doing what Drew said (albeit more like "Sorry not interested")
2) Make up a boyfriend.
3) Make up a girlfriend.
4) Convert to a religion where I am on a strict "boyfast." For seven years. (And I'll find some way to explain this to boys who aren't this boy.)
5) Actually find a boyfriend... hahah
Option 1) seems to be the easiest. I want to enjoy Quiz Bowl practise without feeling awkward. Also, he seems to be like a nice guy on the whole. I would just feel totally uncomfortable being alone with him. (I am aware that that sounds contradictary. Because it is.)

Re: OCD vs. Indifference (or Roommates, Shots, and other things that come in threes)
Haha I don't think 3 is going to make him act LESS creepy.
My advice would be to go out with him once and be the worst person you can be. Not cruel, but disgusting, uninteresting, and anything else you can think of to make him choose to stop talking to you. Most effective way to deal with him is to take away his desire to hang with you, not to tell him he can't or run away.
Because nobody wants you, they just want what they think you are. Just got to make it clear that you're not what he thinks you are. And I use "you" as a general, not as a replacement for "Alex Clifton".

"Nobody wants you" oh thanks Luke lawlz. I really feel loved at this stage in my life, you know?

Re: OCD vs. Indifference (or Roommates, Shots, and other things that come in threes)
Hey I made it explicitly clear that "you" wasn't synonomous with "Alex". I'm not an English major so I'm not going to correct my spelling, either.
Does it bother you, Drew? Those letters are out of order. And I don't care... I'm going to let them stay there, skewed and misaligned. The laws of writing are crumbling before our eyes, bringing in a glorious renaissance of communicational freedom. Will you stop it, Drew? Will you brutally enforce archaic structures of grammar with no logical backing simply to make things easier for yourself, the aristocracy of language? The choice is yours.

Luke, you do come up with some funny solutions. I'd still go with number one.
